EXPLORE O.C. | | | | | | | Muldoon's Dublin Pub & Celtic Bar202 Newport Center Dr
Newport Beach,
CA

949-640-4110 | | | | | Description: NEWPORT BEACH. Seven TVs (including two flat-screens and a large-screen plasma) ensure that sports fans crowd into Muldoon's to cheer on their favorite teams. Although the TVs are a nice perk, what makes the pub truly special is its authenticity after all, it was founded by two brothers from the Emerald Isle. Indeed, it's as cozy as can be, from atmospheric red-brick walls and dark-stained woods to an imported bar (it, too, is a product of Ireland!). Traditional pub grub adds to the place's character, as does the ever-so-important Guinness draught. Live music is featured Friday through Sunday.

The Southern California version of a dockside dive if ever there were one, Mutt Lynch's is the kind of place that locals keep a closely guarded secret. Indeed, folks have nothing but praise for the kitchen's tasty grub, whether it's a breakfast omelet or a tasty, late-in-the-day pizza. Of course, Mutt's appeal reaches much further the waterside joint also serves some of Orange County's coldest brews, which are great for toasting incredible views of the bay.
